To Versus +ing
Homework and review activity.
What is learnt?
Verbs +ing, Verbs +infinitive with to
Copy the sheet for each student.
How the game is played:
At the end of the first lesson give out the To versus -ing sheet and ask the
students to complete it for homework.
In the second lesson do a speedy check to see that most people got the
right verb forms.
- Pair the students and ask them to tell each other some of the stories
behind their sentences. Encourage questions. While this is going on,
check the verb forms over people's shoulders.
TO VERSUS -ING
On a separate sheet complete these sentence stems meaningfully, talking about your own experience. Use either the 'gerund' or the 'infinitive', as grammatically appropriate. Do not use nouns.
